SantaLash 2009 Charities
Help the Hospices Hospices are the largest fundraising cause in the UK. Between them they need to raise over £400 million every year to keep going. A quarter of a million terminally ill adults and children rely on this money being raised each year. Each of these patients will be a mother or father, brother or sister, friend or colleague. Whether they are at home, in day care or in a hospice, the care they receive is tailored to their own individual needs and is given free of charge. Help the Hospice’s vision is that everyone at the end of life has access to the best possible care. Your generosity allows Help the Hospices, as the national charity for the hospice movement, to help local hospices give outstanding care and support to their patients, together with their friends and families. Help for Heroes It’s about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It’s about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it’s about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It’s about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It’s about Ben, it’s about Steven and Andy and Mark, it’s about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes. We first supported Help for Heroes two years ago, becoming one of the very first charity events to raise for the cause. Today the work H4H do is more important than ever and once again we are very proud to support them and the men and women they provide for. Visit Help for Heroes today to find out more. |
