Street Kids Rescue supports orphans and abandoned children in south east Asia. We are involved in a number of projects, some of which are completed and others which require further funding.
Burma
We are supporting six orphanages. Our aim is to provide food, healthcare and education for all 580 children.
So far, we have built a clinic and a school and are currently building another orphanage/school.
The children are now eating proper meals and receiving medical treatment for the first time in their lives.
Thailand
We support two children’s care centres in migrant worker labour camps.
When the parents went to work, the children were left to roam the camp and streets. This created a prime hunting ground for drug dealers and sex traffickers.
After learning that children had been abducted, day centres were established. The younger children are dropped off in the morning and the older ones have a safe place after school.
The running costs per centre are approximately £1600 a month and care for up to 140 children.
Laos
Although there are government schools, there is very little funding for upkeep, furniture or books. We have supplied textbooks and writing materials to three schools in remote villages and have supplied much needed medicine
